Rotary Vacuum Coaters

  • The ideal machine for core coating; i.e. getting a liquid inside a product instead of as a surface coating.

  • The mixer chamber is charged with material (e.g. extruded pellets).

  • The machine is closed and air is evacuated from the mixing chamber.

  • Oil (or other liquid) is introduced.

  • The vacuum is released slowly while the mixer is operating, and the liquid fills all cavities in the dry material (core coating).

  • The machine is rotated 180° and the butterfly valve is opened for discharge.

  • The machine is rotated back to start.

  • Typical cycle time is 4 – 6 minutes.
