- The ideal machine for core coating; i.e. getting a liquid inside a product instead of as a surface coating.
The mixer chamber is charged with material (e.g. extruded pellets).
The machine is closed and air is evacuated from the mixing chamber.
Oil (or other liquid) is introduced.
The vacuum is released slowly while the mixer is operating, and the liquid fills all cavities in the dry material (core coating).
The machine is rotated 180° and the butterfly valve is opened for discharge.
The machine is rotated back to start.
Typical cycle time is 4 – 6 minutes.
